Contamination Technology Corporation

CTC manufactures a complete range of Gas Phase Adsorbers and Bag in/Bag out Isolation Housings. Specializing in both standard and custom filtration systems, CTC has been designing and manufacturing Gas Phase Adsorbers and Bag in/Bag out Housings since 1994 to meet a variety of industry needs. With a CTC-designed filtration system, clients benefit from over 15 years of expertise in filtration systems and standards, compatibility with most manufacturers' products, and design innovation for both standard and specialized applications. CTC also offers specification assistance, custom system design, product testing and documentation, and research and development support to ensure comprehensive and tailored solutions.

B1 Series Bag-in/Bag-out Housing

CTC’s B1 Series Housings are built for biologically hazardous applications, offering safe and controlled filter replacement through an integrated PVC bagging system that prevents personnel exposure to contaminants. These housings support various configurations using prefilters, HEPA filters, and carbon adsorbers. Constructed from 14-gauge and 12-gauge Type 304 stainless steel, with optional Type 316, all pressure boundaries are continuously seam welded. Welds are qualified per ASME BPVC, Section IX, and housings are tested to 10" WC following ASME N510-1995 standards.

B1 Series Housings accommodate standard gasketed HEPA filters and 2" prefilters, with gel seal options available. Multi-wide housings feature a filter removal rod for convenient change-out positioning. Each access port includes a PVC change-out bag. Positive seal clamping mechanisms apply a minimum of 1200 lbs. of force per filter, ensuring a secure seal. Additional features include static pressure taps across the door and 1½" minimum flange widths upstream and downstream. Designed in accordance with ASME NQA-1, available accessories include transitions, weather caps, gauges, dampers, test sections, ports, and skids.

B2 Series Bag-in/Bag-out Housing

CTC’s B2 Series Housings are engineered for biologically hazardous environments, offering secure containment and safe filter replacement using a PVC bagging system that isolates personnel from contaminated filters. These housings support a range of configurations, accommodating prefilters, HEPA filters, and carbon adsorbers. Constructed from 14-gauge and 12-gauge Type 304 stainless steel, with optional Type 316, all pressure boundaries are continuously seam welded. Weld procedures and personnel comply with ASME BPVC, Section IX, and each housing is tested to 10" WC in accordance with ASME N510-1995 (reaffirmed).

Standard features include compatibility with standard gasketed HEPA filters and 2"-6" prefilters (gel seal optional), filter removal rods in multi-wide units, and positive seal clamping mechanisms providing at least 1200 lbs. of force per filter. Each access port comes with a PVC change-out bag, static pressure taps across each door, and 1½" minimum flange widths upstream and downstream. Manufactured to ASME NQA-1 requirements, available accessories include transitions, weather caps, gauges, dampers, test sections, ports, and skids.

Bag-in/Bag-out Containment Housing

The filter housing shall be a bag-in/bag-out assembly designed to allow filter replacement without direct contact with the filter cartridge. It shall be constructed from 14-gauge 304 stainless steel and reinforced to withstand a minimum pressure of 10” WG, in compliance with ASME BPVC, Section IX. All internal components shall be made from 300 Series stainless steel, with the exception of the brass travel nut used in the clamping mechanism. The housing shall be compatible with standard gasket seal filters.

A positive seal clamping mechanism shall be included, capable of exerting a minimum of 1200 lbs of force per filter. This clamping force shall be maintained by leaf springs to ensure a reliable seal even after long-term gasket relaxation. Operation of the clamping mechanism shall occur outside the change-out bag, with the access door extending over the mechanism operators to prevent tampering unless the door is removed. Door knobs shall be aluminum and remain attached to the door after removal to prevent misplacement. Each filter access port shall include a bagging ring featuring two continuous ribs to securely hold the PVC change-out bag. The access opening shall be designed to fully contain the bag within the housing when the door is closed.

CTC Bubble-Tight Dampers

CTC bubble-tight dampers are engineered for dual functionality as both isolation and control dampers. In isolation applications, they secure filter banks during filter change-out, while in control settings, they regulate airflow within filtration systems. Constructed from 10-gauge bodies with 7-gauge (3/16") blades and flanges, the dampers are available in T-304 and 316L stainless steel, with all pressure boundaries continuously seam welded for structural integrity.

These dampers are offered in a wide range of sizes from 6 to 36 inches and can be customized with manual, electric, or pneumatic actuators. The flanges can also be tailored to specific shape and size requirements. External shaft seals feature bronze bearings with Polypak™ ring seals rated at 800 psi, and blade gaskets are available in various materials to meet specific temperature and chemical resistance needs. Each unit is tested to 10" w.g. using the pressure decay method in accordance with ASME N510-1995, and is certified bubble-tight after 100,000 open/close cycles. Manufactured in compliance with ASME NQA-1 standards, CTC dampers ensure reliable performance in demanding environments.
